What a website costs in India in 2026, before you touch the calculator
These are the base ranges the calculator below starts from, in rupees, from projects we have actually quoted and shipped. The low end is a tight scope on a template; the high end is custom design with integrations. Features, design tier and a rush timeline move the number, which is what the tool is for. If you only wanted the ballpark, this table is it.
| Website type | From | To |
|---|---|---|
| 1-page marketing site | ₹3,500 | ₹17,500 |
| 5-8 page small business site | ₹10,500 | ₹56,000 |
| Shopify storefront (standard) | ₹14,000 | ₹56,000 |
| Shopify custom theme + integrations | ₹56,000 | ₹1,40,000 |
| Headless ecommerce (Next.js + Shopify) | ₹1,40,000 | ₹5,60,000 |
| SaaS marketing site (Next.js / Laravel) | ₹28,000 | ₹1,05,000 |
| SaaS MVP (backend + frontend, multi-tenant) | ₹70,000 | ₹3,50,000 |
| Mobile app (Flutter / React Native, iOS+Android) | ₹60,000 | ₹1,80,000 |
| EV charging CSMS (OCPP 1.6-J) | ₹1,40,000 | ₹10,50,000 |
Common additions, and what they add to any of the rows above: multi-currency (usd/eur/aed) (₹5,600 to ₹14,000), multi-language (hindi + regional) (₹7,000 to ₹21,000), payment gateway (razorpay/stripe/payu) (₹3,500 to ₹10,500), whatsapp business api integration (₹5,600 to ₹17,500), booking / appointment engine (₹10,500 to ₹42,000), admin dashboard (custom cms) (₹20,000 to ₹80,000). Hosting is separate and is a monthly cost, not a build cost: a small business site runs on a few hundred rupees a month, and we say which host and why in the quote.
Two things every website cost calculator in India leaves out. First, the cheapest quote you get is usually not the cheapest site, because the rebuild in eighteen months is not on it. Second, a number without a written scope is not a quote. Ours comes with one, on a flat price, and the repository is in your name from the first commit.
Ecommerce website cost in India
An ecommerce website cost calculator has to start from what kind of store it is, because the three shapes below are not points on one line. They are different builds, and the number that matters most is which one you actually need.
- Shopify storefront (standard), ₹14,000 to ₹56,000. 20-100 products, standard theme, Razorpay.
- Shopify custom theme + integrations, ₹56,000 to ₹1,40,000. Multi-currency, custom design, Klaviyo, GA4.
- Headless ecommerce (Next.js + Shopify), ₹1,40,000 to ₹5,60,000. Performance-grade, custom UX, edge-cached.
What moves an ecommerce number once the shape is chosen: payment gateway (razorpay/stripe/payu) (₹3,500 to ₹10,500), gst-compliant invoicing (₹3,500 to ₹14,000), multi-currency (usd/eur/aed) (₹5,600 to ₹14,000), whatsapp business api integration (₹5,600 to ₹17,500). Two costs the build price never includes and every store pays: the platform fee if you are on Shopify, which is Shopify's own monthly plan, and payment gateway charges per transaction, roughly 2% on Razorpay and 3.5% on Stripe. Both are listed in the quote so they are not a surprise in month one.
Website design cost, on its own
Design is the input people most often want a website design cost calculator for, and it is the one the tool treats as a multiplier rather than a line item. Pick a tier and the whole estimate, features included, scales by it:
- Template / Theme-based, no change to the base. Premium theme, minor customization. Fastest.
- Semi-custom design, 1.35x the base. Custom homepage + key flows, theme for rest.
- Fully custom design (Figma → React), 1.8x the base. Bespoke design system, every page custom.
Worked through on a 5-8 page small business site, which starts at ₹10,500 to ₹56,000 on a template: semi-custom takes it to ₹14,175 to ₹75,600, and fully custom to ₹18,900 to ₹1,00,800. A rush timeline adds another 30% on top of whichever tier you chose. That is the whole design pricing model, and it is why two sites with the same page count can be quoted three times apart without either quote being wrong.
What hosting costs, and why it is not in the number
This is a build cost calculator. Hosting is a monthly running cost, it depends on the stack rather than the page count, and folding it into a one-off estimate would make both numbers wrong. In 2026 the bands in India look like this: shared hosting for a small content site at ₹89 to ₹500 a month, managed WordPress at ₹1,500 to ₹10,000, a VPS at ₹500 to ₹4,000 unmanaged or ₹1,500 to ₹8,000 managed, Shopify on its own plan from ₹1,994 a month, and cloud infrastructure for a real application anywhere from ₹2,000 to ₹50,000 and up depending on traffic and architecture.
Which of those you need follows from the build, which is why the quote names the host and the monthly figure rather than leaving it to you. The full breakdown by hosting type, with when each one is the right pick, is in our hosting guide for India.
How the calculator works
- Base price comes from website type (static site, ecommerce, SaaS, mobile app, OCPP).
- Each selected feature (multi-language, payment gateway, custom design, etc.) adds a known increment based on real engineering hours.
- Design tier (template 1x, semi-custom 1.35x, fully custom 1.8x) multiplies the whole estimate, features included.
- Urgency (standard 4-12 weeks vs rush 2-4 weeks) adds a rush premium.
- Output is a range (low–high) because every project has unknowns, but the range tightens as you add more inputs.
FAQs about the calculator
Is this calculator accurate?
It gives you an honest INR ballpark within ±25% of what we (and similar senior Indian agencies) would quote. It's not a binding quote, but it's far more accurate than the "website starts at ₹5K" ads or the "custom enterprise pricing" agency roulette. We built it from 50+ real client projects in 2024-2026.
What does the price NOT include?
Domain (₹500-2K/yr), hosting (₹500-50K/mo depending on stack), payment-gateway transaction fees (Razorpay 2%, Stripe 3.5%), translation/multi-language content, photography/copywriting, third-party API subscription costs (Twilio SMS, SendGrid email, etc.), Google Ads or SEO retainer. The estimate covers our development + design fee.
Why are the ranges so wide?
Because website pricing legitimately varies 3-5x based on design polish, feature scope, integrations, and team seniority. A 5-page WordPress site can be ₹15K (template + speed-build) or ₹80K (custom design + multi-language + speed optimization). The calculator narrows the range based on your inputs.
Do you actually quote these prices?
Yes, these are real ranges we've charged in the last 12 months. We're based in Noida and bill in INR. Foreign clients (US, Canada, UK, UAE) are billed in USD, CAD, GBP or AED. See our services page for individual service breakdowns.
Can I get a website price estimate without using the calculator?
Yes. The table at the top of this page is the same data the tool starts from, so reading it is a website price estimate by type before you touch a control. The difference between that and a quote: an estimate is a range from a type and a feature list, and a quote is a fixed number against a written scope. We send the second within 24 hours from the quote form.
Does the calculator cover ecommerce and hosting?
Ecommerce, yes: a standard Shopify storefront, a custom Shopify theme with integrations, and headless Next.js on Shopify are three separate rows, and payment gateway, GST invoicing and multi-currency are features you can add to any of them. Hosting, no. It is a monthly running cost that depends on the stack, not a build cost, so the section on hosting above gives the 2026 bands instead and the quote names the host and the figure.
